They sat as judges in the Hebrew trial of Jesus with legislative, executive and judicial powers. They constituted the national parliament. It was this court that condemned our Savior on a charge of blasphemy against Jehovah. Webb21 At daybreak they entered the temple courts, as they had been told, and began to teach the people.
