Pourbaix diagram of nitrogen species

Web4 Jan 2024 · Electrochemical analyses of 1Aq and 2Aq (Pourbaix diagram) suggest the generation of a formal RuV═O species that can potentially promote the oxidation of water. A comparative study of the water oxidation activity catalyzed by 1Aq and 2Aq is reported here to see the effect of a dangling carboxylic group in the catalytic performance. Web21 Oct 2024 · The iron Pourbaix diagram reveals that speciation strongly depends on solution pH [38,39]. At pH values below 9, Fe 2+ is the dominant species, while below pH 4, Fe 3+ dominates. The presence of both Fe species is needed for the cycling of iron in the system, which increases the efficacy of the reaction.

WebPourbaix's diagram predicts that Pt metal will dissolve as Pt 2+ during anodic polarization in strong acid solutions. In sulfuric or nitric acid solution the electrolyte enhances the passivation of Pt, especially in 0.5–5 M solutions, and the extent of corrosion seems to be dependent on the formed platinum oxide, 91 which is presumably PtO. 90 In more … WebThis video is part of the material used for the flipped classroom course "Chemistry for civil engineers" of the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zuri...
